Did You Know Your Lips Age First?

You might have heard that your neck ages first, but your lips actually age faster.

And pre-mature aging can be the underlying cause behind chapped, pigmented, wrinkled or thinning lips.

Speaking of chapped lips…

Our own chapped lips created this scrub.

I can’t speak for my sisters, but I was drinking a gallon of water a day, and using balms galore- and would still find my lips getting chapped.

So I figured we’d just create our own super lip balm. But, as we started to work with chemists to develop a balm line, I learned of the importance of a rounded lip care routine.  And it makes sense.

Just like the rest of your skin, your lips need to be exfoliated, nourished and moisturized.

Prior, I was pretty convinced that lip scrubs, were a “gimmicky” product for high school girls who just liked to lick sugar off their lips.

But exfoliating your lips is necessary… and if you struggle with dry lips even though you have a healthy lifestyle routine,  it could very well be because you need to re-balance the lipid layer which allows our lips to hold that moisture in. This is what exfoliating does. In addition to a lot of other great things…

Some reasons to exfoliate:

1. Prevent aging, wrinkles, and unwanted pigmentation.

2. Keep your lips moist and healthy.

3. Make your lips appear full and plump.

4.  Make your lipstick look gorgeous af.
