Sorry to break it to you, but you can slather on lip balm galore and still have dry lips if you’re not exfoliating.

Exfoliating is the absolute best way to achieve soft smooth lips that don’t chap.  It’s also the best way to prevent your lips from prematurely aging since dry skin can block the absorption of all the balms and creams you’ve been applying.

This is where lip scrubs come in, arguably lip scrub is the perfect mechanical exfoliator to buff away the dead dry skin in a gentle way while imparting hydrating and nourishing oils and butters.

We had our team test the most popular lip scrubs and these were our top favorite!

Yellow Coffin Cosmetics

Obviously, we had to start the article with our baby. Our lip scrub is 100% vegan, cruelty free, edible and affordable.  In creating our scrub, we tried a ton of other scrubs, and looked at what people liked and didn’t like about them. We then formulated ours to address those issues. We use only the highest quality ingredients, organic sugar, and organic cold pressed oils like jojoba, grapeseed and vitamin e. Follow it up with our lip serum and night mask for a full lip care routine designed for ultimate hydration, and preventative aging.

Cost: $12 for 1 Oz

Sarah Happ

We have to give Sarah mad props on her lip scrubs.  She is the Queen of lip scrubs. Starting her business out of necessity when she couldn’t find lip scrubs in the store herself, Sarah is notoriously linked to the first commercial lip scrubs sales. Needless to say, this OG, has a pretty perfect scrub featuring oils like grapeseed, jojoba and rice bran extract.

Cost: $48 for 1 Oz

Velour Lip Scrub

We were surprised when we looked at this Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Lip Scrub ingredients how similar they were to the ingredients we put in ours and these scrubs are a fraction of the cost of other mainstream scrubs, it’s also surprising that this didn’t end up on a lot of other “best lip scrub” articles.

Cost: $24 for 1 Oz

Another sugar scrub, but made a little more awesome by being modeled after Hawaii traditional ingredients. We’re fans of any brand that integrates culture and tradition into their products in general, but when they have amazing results?  Even better. This scrub features raw cane sugar, Hawaiian Kukui nut oil, and shea butter. The result? Super smooth, pump and bright lips.
